3D Printing
3D Clicker Generator
Turn an image or logo into a fidget clicker: a 3D printed body that holds one MX keyboard switch, with a keycap in the shape of your image on top. The image colours are grouped automatically into popular filament colours, and the 3MF opens in Bambu Studio with one part per colour.

How to make a clicker from an image
- Choose an image or logo, drag a file onto the preview, or paste an image with Ctrl+V. Before that, try every setting on the sample image.
- Pick 2 colours, 4 colours or Multicolour. The image colours are matched to filament colours automatically, and the Filament colours view shows the result. Change colours in the Colour mapping list if needed.
- Choose the keycap shape and size, the body colour and the keyring loop.
- Download the 3MF for Bambu Studio (one part per colour) or the STL for other slicers.
What you need
- One MX or MX-compatible keyboard switch (3-pin or 5-pin). Clicky switches are the most fun, linear switches are quieter.
- PLA filament for the body and the keycap colours. The list of filaments used appears under the download buttons.
- A 3D printer. For a coloured keycap, a printer with an AMS or another multi-filament system; without one, choose 2 colours or a single colour.
Printing in Bambu Studio
- Open the 3MF. The body stands upright and the keycap lies upside down with the image on the plate, both without supports.
- In the Filament panel, add filaments with the + button or sync your AMS until there are as many as the list under the download buttons, then set the colour of each number.
- Slice and print. Colours only change in the first layers of the keycap, so little filament is wasted.
Tips for a good result
- Images with bold colours and few gradients, such as logos, icons, stickers or pixel art, give the cleanest result. Photos are broken up into blocks of colour.
- A keycap of 30 to 45 mm is comfortable to press with a thumb. Large or long keycaps can rock at the edges.
- Colour details thinner than 0.4 mm may disappear when printed. Raise Remove specks if the image looks speckled.
- If the switch is loose, try a 13.9 mm switch hole. If it is too tight, try 14.1 mm.
Frequently Asked Questions
A clicker is a fidget toy that clicks when you press it, built around one mechanical keyboard switch. Besides the printed parts, you only need one MX or MX-compatible switch (Cherry MX, Gateron, Akko, Kailh Box, Outemu and similar). Clicky switches such as Blue or Box Jade give the clearest click.
Push the switch into the hole in the body from above until both clips click into place. There is room under it, so you do not need to cut the metal pins. Then press the keycap onto the switch stem with the image facing up.
The image colours are grouped automatically, and each group is matched to the most similar popular PLA filament colour. The Filament colours view shows the result. If one is off, click its filament colour in the Colour mapping list and pick another, including any custom colour.
Yes. The body and keycap appear as two objects. Every keycap colour is already its own part with a filament number, and the part name says the colour. Set each filament colour in the Filament panel (or sync your AMS) as listed under the download buttons, then slice.
Yes. Choose 2 colours and swap filament by hand at the first layer after the colour layer, or print every part in one colour. The body is always one colour.
So the coloured image is the first layer on the plate. The top comes out flat and smooth, and no supports are needed because the keycap walls and stem grow upwards.
Open the advanced options. Switch hole sets how tightly the switch sits in the body, Loosen stem socket sets the keycap grip, and Keycap gap sets the space between the keycap and the body wall. Change them in small steps, for example 0.05 to 0.1 mm.
No. The image is processed in your browser, from the colour grouping to the 3MF and STL files. The last image is stored in your browser on this device so you do not need to pick it again; click Remove image to delete it.
