Step 1

Choose a PDF File

One PDF file. Its pages appear below so you can pick them.

Your PDF is read and processed in your browser. The file is not uploaded to or stored on SoftwareHub servers.

How This PDF to Image Tool Works

When you pick a file, pdf.js (the PDF engine of Firefox) reads it in your browser and draws each page onto a canvas at the resolution you chose, then saves it as JPG or PNG. To split, pdf-lib copies the pages you picked into a new PDF as they are, so text can still be copied and nothing loses quality. Need the opposite? Combine photos and PDFs into one file with Image to PDF, or make it smaller with Compress PDF.

Tips for Using the Output

  • Uploading documents to online forms: many application forms only accept JPG. Pick JPG at 150 dpi so the file is small but still readable.
  • Sending one page in a chat: turn that page into an image and send it as a photo. The recipient sees it straight away without a PDF app.
  • Separating double-sided scans: use "Every few pages" with 2 pages per file to split ID cards or other cards scanned front and back.
  • Pulling an appendix out of a long document: type the appendix page range, for example 12-15, and save it as one new PDF.

Frequently Asked Questions

No. Pages are rendered and split in your browser with JavaScript (pdf.js and pdf-lib). The file is never sent to SoftwareHub or anyone else, so it is safe for private documents such as IDs, certificates or payslips.
JPG files are smaller and suit photos, scans and online form uploads. PNG keeps every detail, which suits documents with small text, tables or charts, but the files are larger.
150 dpi is enough to read on a screen and to send in a chat app. Pick 300 dpi if the image will be printed or the text is small. 96 dpi gives the smallest files, for previews or uploads with a tight size limit.
Tap pages in the list to select or deselect them, or type page numbers in the selection field, for example 1-3, 5, 8-. Then choose Split PDF and "Combine into one PDF" to save those pages as a new file.
Yes. Choose "One file per page", "Every few pages" (for example every 2 pages) or "By range", which turns every range you type into its own file. When there is more than one file, they all come in a single ZIP.
To convert to images, yes: enter the password when asked. Splitting into new PDFs does not work yet, because pages copied from an encrypted PDF would come out blank. Remove the protection in your PDF app first, then split the unlocked file.
Your own device draws every page. A PDF with hundreds of pages at 300 dpi needs a lot of memory, especially on a phone. Pick 150 dpi, or process part of the pages first and the rest afterwards.
Use the Image to PDF tool on SoftwareHub. It merges several PDFs and photos, lets you reorder the pages, and downloads them as one PDF.
