Used Laptop & Phone Tester
Open this page on the laptop or phone you are about to buy and run the tests one by one: keyboard, touchpad, dead pixels, touchscreen, camera, microphone, speakers, vibration and battery. You can copy the results and send them to the seller.
Pick a Test
Hardware Tests
Tap a test, run it, then mark the result. The order is tuned to this device.
Keyboard
Press every key one by one. Working keys light up.
⚠️ The keyboard test is not available in this browser.
Fn, PrintScreen and the Windows key are often not readable by the browser. Avoid Ctrl+W and Alt+F4, which close the tab.
Did every key light up when pressed?
Touchpad & Mouse
Move the pointer, left-click, right-click, double-click and scroll inside the box.
⚠️ The touchpad test is not available in this browser.
- Pointer movement
- Left click
- Right click
- Double click
- Scroll up
- Scroll down
- Sideways scroll
- Middle click (optional)
Do movement, clicks and scrolling work normally?
Dead Pixels
The screen cycles through 6 solid colours. Look for any dot that differs.
⚠️ The screen test is not available in this browser.
Tap the screen or press Space for the next colour, Esc to exit. Do this in a dim room with brightness at maximum.
Is the screen clean, with no dead dots, lines or blotches?
Touchscreen
Swipe over the whole screen until every square is coloured. Try several fingers at once too.
⚠️ This device has no touchscreen, or the browser does not detect one.
Squares that cannot be coloured show dead areas of the touchscreen. Press ✕ in the corner to stop.
Does every area of the screen respond to touch?
Camera
Turn on the front and back cameras. Check focus, colour and smudges on the lens.
⚠️ This browser cannot access the camera (it needs HTTPS and a modern browser).
The video only shows on this screen and is not recorded. The camera turns off when you go back to the test list.
Is the camera image sharp and spot-free?
Microphone
Talk or clap; the bars should move. Record 4 seconds to hear the result.
⚠️ This browser cannot access the microphone.
The recording is kept temporarily in this browser only and is gone when the page closes.
Is the recording clear, with no hum?
Speakers
Play sound on the left, right and both speakers. The frequency sweep helps you hear a blown speaker.
⚠️ This browser cannot play the test sound.
Turn the volume up and unplug headphones. Distorted, crackling or one-sided sound means a speaker problem.
Is the sound clear from both left and right?
Vibration
Tap the button and feel for the vibration.
⚠️ Vibration is not supported on this device or browser (iPhone, laptops and some browsers).
Does the device vibrate normally?
Battery & Charger
See the battery percentage, then unplug and plug in the charger.
⚠️ This browser gives no battery info (Safari and Firefox). Check the device's settings instead.
🔌 Unplug and plug in the charger. The status should change within a few seconds.
On a desktop PC without a battery, browsers usually report 100% and charging.
Is the charger detected and the battery charging?

What the browser can read. Compare it with the seller's claims.
Browsers limit some data (RAM is rounded and may be capped, iPhone models are hidden). The refresh rate is measured once when the page opens; power-saving modes can lower it.
Every test runs in the device's own browser. The camera and microphone are only on while their test is open, the voice recording is never sent to a server, and results are not stored. A browser cannot read battery health, the IMEI or SSD condition; see the sections below for how to check them.
How to Check a Used Laptop or Phone with This Tool
Ask the seller to switch the device on, open softwarehub.web.id/en/device-tester in its browser and run the tests from the top. After each test, mark it Works or Problem. At the end, copy the results to use when negotiating or as a record of the device's condition.
What You Still Need to Check by Hand
A browser cannot read everything. Before you pay, also check the following:
- The phone's IMEI. Dial *#06# and match it with the box and the label on the SIM tray. Check with your carrier or a national IMEI database that it is not reported lost or stolen.
- iCloud or Google account. Make sure the seller has signed out and the phone has been reset. A phone still tied to an account (Activation Lock or FRP) cannot be used.
- Real storage and RAM. Look in Settings, About Phone (phones) or Settings, System, About (Windows). On a laptop, check SSD health with an app such as CrystalDiskInfo.
- Ports and physical buttons. Plug in the charger, a USB drive, HDMI and headphones. Press the power and volume buttons. On a laptop, open and close the hinge a few times; it should be firm and quiet.
- Signs of repair or water damage. Look for scratched screws, uneven gaps and a lifting screen. Replacement screens often show different colours or touch response.
- Licences and locks. Laptops: check Windows activation and make sure there is no BIOS password. MacBooks: make sure Find My is off and the Mac is not enrolled in company management (MDM).
How to Check Battery Health
- Windows laptop: open Command Prompt, type
powercfg /batteryreport, then open battery-report.html. Compare Full Charge Capacity with Design Capacity; under 70% means the battery is heavily worn. - MacBook: hold Option, click the Apple menu, System Information, Power. Check Cycle Count and Condition (Normal or Service Recommended).
- iPhone: Settings, Battery, Battery Health & Charging. A Maximum Capacity under 80% usually means the battery needs replacing.
- Android: depends on the brand. Samsung: Samsung Members app, Diagnostics; Pixel and some others: Settings, Battery, Battery health. Also notice whether the phone gets hot while charging.
